Is Glisio really free to try?
Yes. Recording, editing, and exporting are all free, with a small Glisio watermark on exports. Upgrade to Pro to remove the watermark.
Does Glisio upload my screen recordings to the cloud?
No. Glisio captures with Apple's ScreenCaptureKit and renders exports through a native macOS pipeline on your machine. Your recordings and finished videos never leave your Mac unless you choose to share them.
Where are my recordings stored?
Recordings and exports are stored on your Mac. Glisio does not require a cloud upload for recording, editing, or export.
Will Glisio slow down my Mac during export?
Export uses a local, hardware-accelerated Mac pipeline when available. Performance and fan activity still depend on the recording length, resolution, and your Mac.
What macOS version does Glisio require?
Glisio requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later. The native recorder and exporter rely on ScreenCaptureKit APIs introduced in that release. Apple Silicon M-Series and Intel Macs are fully supported.
How does cinematic zoom work?
Glisio tracks your cursor and click events during recording, then generates smooth camera zoom and pan keyframes with spring-physics motion. The camera automatically centers and snaps onto clicks. No manual timeline editing required.
What export formats and frame rates are supported?
Glisio exports MP4 at up to 60fps, free with a Glisio watermark, or watermark-free with Pro. You can output your native recording ratio, 9:16 vertical, or 1:1 square from the same session. Presets are included for YouTube, X, LinkedIn, and TikTok/Reels.
Can I record with webcam, microphone, and system audio?
Yes. On Mac, Glisio can record an optional webcam track, microphone input, and system audio with your screen. The editor includes five webcam layouts plus size, shape, border, and position controls.
Does screen recording on Mac record internal audio?
Built-in macOS tools usually capture the microphone, not computer audio. Glisio records Mac system audio with the screen so UI sounds, video playback, and voiceover can live in one take, without BlackHole.
Is Glisio a Screen Studio alternative?
Yes. Glisio is a Mac screen recorder with cinematic auto-zoom aimed at the same polished-demo workflow as Screen Studio, with a one-time Pro license and free watermarked export while you evaluate.
Does Glisio work offline?
Recording, editing, and exporting work fully offline. Free exports include a Glisio watermark. Activating Pro (to remove the watermark) needs a one-time internet check. App updates also require internet.
Can I switch from monthly to Lifetime?
Yes. Buy Pro Lifetime with the same email. We cancel the monthly subscription so you are not billed twice. Activate the new Lifetime key from the receipt email (or glisio.com/recover). Lifetime customers cannot also keep a monthly plan.
Does Lifetime include every future Glisio feature?
Lifetime is Pro on the Mac app: watermark-free export and the core recorder and editor, including updates to those features. Optional add-ons we may ship later, such as cloud tools or usage-based AI, can be priced separately. We will not move Pro features you already have behind a new paywall.
